After each event, the team believed that they had found the culprit. However, Topeka proved that they had not found it, due to another case this weekend. The Bar’s Leaks Stratus ran the first qualifying session and drove out about as far as many of the other cars, shaking violently, and caused Jonathan to coast the rest of the way down the track. The second session brought on great results, having a clean, quick pass in the works until the engine unloaded about 1,000 feet down track, resulting in a 5.95 second elapsed time at only 207 mph. This ended the team’s chances after hurting the block beyond repair for the weekend.

“There were a lot of great cars there, but none any better than ours,” states George Etterman. “It’s unfortunate that this happened, but after a couple of days of over-examination, we are confident that we have found the problem that has been plaguing us since really Brainerd of last year. We will regroup and have everything ready for our next race, along with our rally caps for a strong finish to the year!” Etterman exclaims.

“Topeka was not what we were looking for in the results column,” says Jonathan Johnson. “However, the flip side is that we did find the problem and we all have a great deal of confidence for the rest of the year. I know that I am excited and the rest of the team feels the same way. We have a great racecar and we cannot wait to get back out and show everyone what we can do, rather than the results that have come as of late. Stay tuned because we all have high hopes for the Etterman Racing Team!” concludes Johnson.

“Over the past few races, our luck has not shown through,” admits David Scheelk. “By deductive reasoning, the team knew that our parts attrition problem had to be a small nuance that we were overlooking. After this past race in Topeka, we finally solved our funny car puzzle and we hope our luck will return at our next racing event,” relays Scheelk.
