Been doing this a pretty long time and rolled a sprag for the first time in my life? How often should these be checked/changed?? Been experiencing a LOT of tire shake so I'm sure thats the cause. I just woke up on the floor when I got the price from Lenco(ouch!) Is there any warning signs to look for?? Thanks

We did the same. I was told to not let the wear pattern on the sprag exceed .080" in width (eighty thousandths). Yes, the helicopter sprag was $850.

I spoke with Dave @ Lenco a day or so ago and the Helicopter Sprag is only $550.00.

I got quoted 3 prices from Scott. 450 for std sprag, 550 for the HD sprag, and 814 for the helicopter version for the CS2. My invoice for the CS2 large Helicopter sprag said number SP58020 from Lenco. Maybe the CS1 is smaller and cheaper?

    lenco sprags

I have two sprags for a lenco from the 1970's don't know if they will fit anything that they build today. if some one will tell me how to post a picture i will take some close ups and you guys can tell me if they are good or not . been in my tool box since 1977. got some bearings too. :)

Buy the sprags with the clips they are much better for tire shake
they cost a ton and suck to put together but i think they are stonger
never have rolled one yet in thirty years, but have throwed a ton of them away :(
pay close attention to the inner and outer race for waer

Ya, everyone is telling me to inspect for wear, but the one I rolled doesn't show any signs that would have made me change it before it happened? I will bring it to the races this weekend. We will see what happens this weekend too?! Really don't want that to happen again. Now, if I could just stop shakin the tires.......

Tire shake is caused by the clutch going in and out due to lack of power and or running out of fuel at the time the clutch wants to lock up, richen it up.
