I know there have been a gazillion discussions on the best rods but I have a question on them. I'm not trying to slam the manufactures but I'm wondering why rods made by R&R and Fowler don't come up much in some of the discussions? I know they have a market and sell them but I was wondering where that is as it does not seem to be predominant in the drag racing arena. Is it media hype on the mainstream brands or is there a deficiency of the design for blown alcohol applications? They are normally a few hundred dollars less per set than the most talked about rods but at this level, is no one willing to use them for fear of the unknown?

I think R&R make a great rod and have heard the same from many others. We have his rods in both motors.

I use fowler rods, twin turbo. I like that the cap centers on rods via sleeves. I dont like the aligator teeth type. Plus you can call Jeff and discuss any situation.

That's a good question, I've been running Fowler rods for years.

I've seen new r&r rods bent from too much hp. They came out in shape of a S. Legal pro mod engine. There soft and he had a problem with the bearing pin falling out. Switched to Mgp. Never looked back.

I look at it like this. What's another $250 for better insurance on my engine. If the pros could use the cheap Rods why wouldn't they? Unless there is underlying problems them don't want to discuss
