Rodeck Lifter ????

We Are Running 541ci Rodeck/chevy With A 14-71 In A Boat, What Lifters Do You Guys Recomend? We Seem To Break The End Off One Of The Plates That Connect Set Together, I Don't Even Remember The Brand That Were In It. It Is Getting Expesive Repairing Cams. Any Idea Why It Keeps Breaking? I Am Just A Rookie Here Trying To Learn. Thanks For Any Advice. Chris

 

We run a rodeck and we use comp cams lifters hope that helps.

 

We also run a RODECK/BBC in our drag boat. I use COMP CAMS Lifters #819. Be sure that you using the correct valve springs, COMP CAMS #947 and that they have the correct pressures for the lift of your camshaft. Ours are good up .800 lift @ 905 lbs, with coil bind at .875.

Make sure your lifters have the raised link bar. Normal height lift bars can bottom out on the top of the lifter bore when the cam is down on the base circle. I had a Rodeck 481 block and I had to machine the tops of the lifter bosses down to clear the link bars.
