Atchison covered “Bumper to Bumper” at Rocky Mountain Nationals

London, Ontario, June 20, 2006 Defending IHRA “3 Straight” Funny Car Champion Rob Atchison returns to Western Canada and the IHRA/Emax Rocky Mountain Nationals in the Erickson Tie Downs and Tow Straps Monte Carlo. Uni-Select’s Bumper to Bumper Stores will join the Atchison Racing Team as a major associate sponsor for the Rocky Mountain Nationals. “ It is great having Bumper to Bumper come on board for the Rocky Mountain Nationals,” stated Rob Atchison. With over 95 stores Bumper to Bumper has been serving Western Canada and the Northwest Territories for more then 25 years. Bumper to Bumper stocks and sells product sponsors CRC Chemicals, NGK Spark Plugs and Permatex Canada’s products lines along with associate sponsor Pennzoil Lubricants and primary sponsor Erickson Manufacturing’s complete product lines.

We have followed Rob Atchison and the Atchison Racing Teams progress since the first Rocky Mountain Nationals. Last year Rob had the car on display at our 99th Street Store location and our customers loved meeting with Rob and seeing the car up close. Rob and Erickson Manufacturing/Bumper to Bumper Monte Carlo will be joined by Edmonton’s John Evanchuk and the Red Wolf Funny Car at Bumper to Bumper’s open house and BBQ Thursday June 22nd from 12- 4.30 at Bumper to Bumper store and corporate office at 11754 170th Street NW in Edmonton. Store specials and product demonstrations will complement the two Funny Cars giving Bumper to Bumper customers a chance to view the Funny Cars close up and meet Rob Atchison and John Evanchuk.

Currently 2nd in the IHRA/Emax points Rob Atchison the defending Rocky Mountain Nationals Champion looks to turn his season around with a victory at the Rocky Mountain Nationals following an uncharacteristic slow start. “ We have been plagued by tire shake throughout the first three races,” stated the Champion. We have had a fast car this year but we lack the consistency that has made our team champions. We have made some changes to the car to address these issues and we are confident we can return to our consistent performance at the Rocky Mountain Nationals.
