It is with sadness I report the passing of IHRA Alcohol Funny Car driver Peter Osterio

I just had the pleasure of meeting him a few weeks ago at his shop in Gainesville, Ga. Peter was originally from Australia. He raced fuel bikes down under and was close friends with the late Elmer Trett.

My deepest condolences to his wife Annie and his family.

    RIP and Godspeed my friend.

More details will be posted as I get them.

The sport has lost one of the friendliest competitors I've ever met.For 20 years I've managed to be fortunate enough to remain an active AFC racer.I've had the pleasure of racing with literally dozens of past and present owners/drivers.No one has ever left me with such a sense of passion for alcohol funny cars.He was a joy to be near. I'll miss his analytical mind as well as his smile and sense of humor.Safe ride my friend.See you at the other end.We will remember ALF!

    Re Peter Osterio

Could some one supply me with an address to send condolences to Annie I have known Peter for 30 yrs and have not been able to find his address. I am in the middle of renovating my house and cant find his address. Thanks for any help.
Peter was a great person and loved the challenge of racing, I have good memories of his efforts with his Drag Bikes in Australia. He was thrilled when he was given the opportunity to move to the USA with a job offer that would enable him to race in the "Big Time". He took his racing very seriously and gave it his all. Peter will be sadly missed by all his friends in Australia. Rest in Peace my friend.
