ring compressor for dykes rings

    For years I have fought our ring compressor with dykes rings. Its like the ring slides up in the ring land vs. compressing. Have you had this happen?

    I'm not sure if I should make another compressor that has a really long and more gradual taper or just the opposite (not much of a taper).

    Before I waste turning lathe time I thought I'd ask on here what works for you?

    We use the ARP ones , no problems ?

    Use the ARP with no issues. Also use the old band clamp model so it compresses the rings from the sides which gets them stuck in the groove.

    Interesting that the ARP compressor is a radius and not a taper...

    BHJ makes good ones, but you have to tell them exactly what you want.
