I have a 540" 871 combo in 245" dragster. I have been using 34.5 Hoosier's TA Tire with good success. (.970 60' consistantly). These were on 16" wide standard wheel. I am going to 34.5 x 17 M/T. Even though I have not had any shake issues, I have a set of beadlocks I want to use. They are 15" wide. M/T rim width suggestion is +/- 1 inch, therefore according to them I should mount on the standard 16" wide wheel I had the hoosiers on.

What will the 15" wide wheel do to the tire? Will the beadlock perform better? What is your suggestion?

Since you already have the bead lock rims I would try it. It will have more growth at the top end.

I suspect you won't get a full contact patch, so the tire won't be as effective. It'll want to be run at a lower pressure to get more contact, may be issues with shake that low.

It's basically free to test though. :)

Casey, I doubt it will have any effect, it's only 1/2in. per side. As thick as the sidewalls are it won't move in much.

thanks, sound like a plan to me also. I also put in a taller gear to calm down 60'. I also found a discrepency in the measureing. You measure beadlocks outside to outside not including bead. You measure non beadlocks, inside to inside which includes the bead. Usually these beads are about 3/4 of inch.

    Thanks for input
