    In a fuunny car, I have seen some levers on the left side and mine has always been on the right side
    What is the reason some one would put it on the left side other than preferance??

    Lenco Reverse lever on left or right hand side

    Some years ago in a rear engine dragster I had a reverse lever on the left hand side instead of the right hand side because it suited the cable better to do it this way, was done by mounting the reverser to the lenco upside down, but when doing this you have to make sure that you turn something in the box upside down as well to allow oil to get to the reverser part of the lenco or else it does not get through to it.

    We run ours on the left hand side (with reverser rotated upside-down) so that the acceleration of the car can't use the weight of the handle to try and throw it into that very small 'neutral' position. Pushing the handle forward = reverse, and pulling the handle back = forward.

    Exactly! I mounted mine so the acceleration would hold the reverser in forward not try and throw it into neutral. Plus all the last things you do before you stage are "back", reverser lever back, buttons out, brake back.

    upside down reverser

    We always ran ours upside down (reverser handle on the left) for the same reason. If you do this you need to turn the sprag cover over as well so the oil flow opening is on the bottom. other than that makes no difference, "it doesn't know". :eek:

    but would not you have to make a different lever as now the detent ball would not engage if you dont extend the lever length before the hex hole that attaches to the shifter fork (running it upside down

    i guess
    forward = forward
    reverse = reverse
    doesnt sound all bad

    On our reverser we have a steel arm that has the detent spot in it, then the handle is bolted to the arm.
