man, it sure does look like NHRA slowed those a/fuelers WAY down with that 1%. top 5 all a/fuel, perry runs a .39.........thats only a little over a tenth. should be a great race.

No...It looks like somebody slowed the blown alcohol cars down. Why are none of them fast??
I got a feeling NHRA is DONE slowing down the nitro cars!

I betcha if Sean O'Bannon and Norm Grimes were there they would have run a low '30 or even a high '20. They ran low 30's in Phx in worse conditions than are being reported in Gainesville. Then maybe this discussion wouldn't be happening AGAIN! But way to go Bill, and was it John Finke, I think. (hey that rhymes, how cool. LOL) As Paul McCartney sings Live and let race!!!

    Peace out, Bob Langston.

Maybe i'm not up to speed here, but when was the last time a blown car ran in the 5.20's ?

Has a blown alcohol dragster ever ran a 5.2? in gainsville ?

When was the last time Norm tuned a blown car into the 5.20's ?, some of you a/fuel guys talk like it was a regular thing.

John, I think Sean and Norm were real close to a high .20 in Pomona....and if memory serves me right the air in Pomona was a heap higher than Gainsville...

I agree that the BAD folks seemed to have slowed down a bit....Marty has a new car but I would guess after they figure it out a bit you will see Marty running .20's soon, As you know all of these cars are fickle, look at Aaron wins the div race at a .32 in Gainsville and goes to the gators and runs a best of a .38 on a better preped track than was the div race there...Trust me Jim Rizzo is no dummy.

Question to whom ever (BAD) Let's say John Haley or Sean O'Bannon or Marty Thacker to name a few start running low .30's and .20's and NHRA says we're slowing down the BAD cars cause there's no parity....how are you going to feel then? If you want the answer to that ask any AFD racers as we know what it is like to have to change at the drop of a hat...numbers mean nothing to me...I look at round wins as should everyone. I have beat this dead horse (my opinion) to death but I will say it again....There will always be someone faster!

    Next.................

Kevin- using your logic it means the A/fd's are real CLOSE to 5.00's

I don't share the opinions expressed here that the guys (BAD)at Gainsville are not up to the quality of the BAD racers elsewhere- real low shots!

In other NHRA classes do they look at round wins to make an adustment to the class ? I think they look at E.T's

You a/fuel guys picked the odd ball combo knowing it was getting wacked every time it layed out an E.T. the blower cars couldn't touch. I don't think you a/fuel guys should be upset or surprised when another change comes your way.

If a blown car does run into the 5.20's you can bet Big Jim Collins will be sent to check that car out. Why ? because we all know it is almost unheard of for a blown car to be that quick.

You can pretend this matter is a dead horse all you want, but untill E.T.'s of the top cars A/fuel and BAD are near the same it is still alive.

    re: rule change

I guess all we a/foolers should accept rule changes. Its our choice to pick the combo that just happens to kick all the ass. YES IVE JUST ACCEPTED IT. but wasnt mitch myers 5.10 just the coolest? i was wondering why the hair dryer in the other lane was backing up during that run. oh yea, easier to get back to the pits. IM TIRED

In case no one has noticed this is as close as the two types of cars have been in a long time. To hear a blown racer cry this early in the season makes no sense. John just a question for you when was the last time Grimes got to run a full season with a blown car? As I remember it was at the end of his five championships. I would bet they run 20s this year. I was at Pomona when they ran the .31 the corrected air was at 2900' or so. Good luck to all and Kevin you are not way off base.
