Talk with Marty Chance @ Chance Convertors about the bolt together unit. We run one behind a 512 blown KB w/ BAE heads and a B&J three speed in a dragster, works great.

I'd go with the company that has the records, I believe you'll find that to be Coan. Their billet bolt together is what is used amongst many of the quickest/fastest ADRL PX cars.

    converter

X2 I love my Coan, I picked up 7 mph and .15 ET in my outlaw 10.5 car with the first converter they sent me. I had to send my Chance back several times, but they never got it right you will drive thru a Chance when you crank up the horsepower, seen that on numerous combos, 10.5 and promod Steve is right, the fastest ADRL cars run Coan, call Jason, he will hook you up.

Lomad runs chance...maybe he's running through it but numerous .89 60ft and 3.58 seems sporty. I've talked to a lot of people and been to Marty's shop and i'd say Chance or Coan with Chance having a little better support.

    Trans Specialties

I don't know if Booher has the quickest TAD converter pass yet, but I know Wayne Morris went pretty quick in TAD trim with a Trans Specialties converter and John Anderika has run the quickest converter run in TAFC with a 5.54 with a Trans Specialties unit. I'm just saying they are worth mentioning.

Obviously Coan and Chance have a track record of fast blown cars in multiple classes.

From what I've seen it looks like Brad from Bradco goes out of his way to help his customers.

Has anyone tried a Pro Torque converter in a blower car? Burgess is flying with his Turbo car with one of their units.

All of that said, it depends on the application. Each mfg seems to have their niche they specialize in. In quartermile applications it's important not to be too loose or you lose too much mph in the back half. In eighth mile, being quick early has a lot more importance, so you can afford to give some up in slippage if you can make the car quicker early.

Im no big HP car, but I have a Bradco and it does exactly what he said it would. He also built me the converter over the weekend, then called me the next week to see how it did.

It also depends on dollar amount you're wanting to spend. If you're planning on trying to run quick, $5k is the range you'll be in for a two piece billet setup from Coan or Chance. Art and Jason will review computer data and offer their thoughts on stator or pump changes. If youre just wanting to run some stuff here and there, I'm sure there are plenty of good used units available to suit your setup. I have several spare converters available if you'd be interested (all Coan's). Give me some more info on your setup and I might be able to be of help.

We run a Chance bolt together. Only had 6% slip on the big end, and that was 1/8th mile. Might as well give Marty a call, it's free advice for the most part. ;)
