Attention all racing crew members: Here's why it's worth the $68 bucks a year to be a NHRA member. Long story short, I got hit in the leg with a Dzus button that was shot off a car's tire from the burnout box at the Norwalk Divisional. It was stuck in my calf muscle, and I had to take an ambulance ride to the ER. Since I am a current NHRA member, NHRA's excess insurance is picking up the medical bills my insurance didn't cover. If you are not an NHRA member, it's a $20,000 deductible. If you are on the starting line on a regular basis, it's worth the cheap insurance. Not to mention you get the pin, the patch, the decal, the rulebook and 48 issues....

    OUCH!

There is a person many know in division 7 that raced TA/FC with his family for years. Back when his late dad drove (not a TA/FC) he was standing behind the car on a burnout and LOST an eye due to a rock. Same thing almost happened to me in the pits warming up my car. I ended up in the ER at the hospital in Tucson with an eye injury. You'll NEVER see me on the starting line without safety glasses.

Glad it wasn't more serious and that everything is working out for you.

But, it seems like some of the pro wives/girlfriends are dressed for the high school prom up there.
