    Rear End Oil

We are using the Redline Synthetic heavy shockproof gear oil. Seems to be working well and extending the life of our gear sets compared to the mineral based oil we used to use.

We've used Moroso climbing gear lube forever. Our 4.29 MW floater has 93 passes on the gear & you can't tell it from new. (Thank you Lencodrive)
Pour a cup in the bottom of the dry housing and come back in the morning and it's half way up the sides. We throw a gallon in and just check it throughout the season. Haven't found anything better and lord knows we have tried.

Havn't tried the Moroso, but can verify the Redline HD Shock-Proof is KILLER stuff! Got stupid and tried the "lighter" Redline once in search of more mph and saw metal/metal contact. The HD provides a nice "cushion" between the gears.

    Gear Oil

We've had excellent results with the TORCO synthetic 75-140 GL-6 spec'd oil, additive package stays in suspension, and so far 125 passes. But if you look at any of the specialty lubricant providers/blenders. Sure that you'll find that will work. This is no plug, buy ours from the local parts house, or Mark Williams.

How many runs are you getting on the gears before you have to change them? What brand of gears do most of you use?
