    Randy Meyer Racing Season Wrap-Up

    Meyer Celebrates Division 5 Championship

Spring Hill, KS., November, 2006- Randy Meyer Racing wrapped up it's 2006 season by winning their third consecutive Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 5 title in Top Alcohol Dragster. Driving his A/fuel dragster, Randy Meyer ended his season with a runner-up finish at the division race in Noble, OK.

Entering his final race, Meyer was 22 points ahead of Richard Putz. Randy qualified in the number four position with a 5.437 at 261.85 mph. Putz was right behind him in the number five qualified position, 5.445 seconds. This would inevitably pair the two Division 5 contenders in the first round. Rain postponed eliminations for a later date. Randy would return three weeks later with his destiny in his own hands and plenty of time to grasp the scenario. He blasted past Putz, a 5.351 to 5.485. Meyer had clinched the Division 5 title.

In the semi-finals Randy downed the number one qualifier Spencer Massy, with a 5.347 at 259.89 mph. Meyer then went on to collect another runner-up with a 5.636 at 253.52 to event winner Brandon Pierce's 5.552 at 247.11. He had further solidified his points total with 322 division points.
Meyer visited the final round in four division races this season, Noble; Memphis, TN.; and twice in Topeka, KS. Randy earned a win at the Division 4 race in Memphis in March.

On the national schedule, Randy's highlights were at drag racing's two biggest races, the popular GatorNationals in Florida and the prestigious US Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. Meyer battled Ashley Force in the final round of the 'Gators' which was featured on the A&E television program Driving Force. Randy was the runner-up. He duplicated that feat again at the US Nationals in September. A final round elapsed time of 5.273 to 2006 National Champion, Bill Reichert's 5.244. Meyer finished in the number 10 position in national championship points, 563. His third top ten in as many years.

Randy Meyer Racing would like to thank the following supporters for a successful season, Miller Industries Towing Equipment, Aeromotive, Tow Rax, Goodyear, Aeroquip, Bar's Leaks, Taylor Cable, ARP, Weld Wheels, Manley, Valco Cinncinati, and Tony Owens at 888-CARWRECK.
