    RANDY MEYER WORKING TOWARDS SUCCESS

April 3, 2006 (Baytown, TX) – Randy Meyer Racing once again took the 1320 by storm in Baytown, Texas for the NHRA O’Reilly Spring Nationals. For the third week in a row, Meyer proved to the world he is a serious contender for the 2006 Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster World Championship. Following-up his runner-up finish in Gainesville and a win in Memphis, Meyer raced to the semi-finals taking out some of the best in the class.

Meyer, like most A-fuel teams competing in Top Alcohol Dragster, is still working with the new rule change that was implemented in 2006. Although Meyer feels he is still struggling, the team has been on the winning side of competition. The team qualified No. 10 at 5.54, 250.27 MPH.

Round one, Meyer won against the only blown car in the field. Leaving first, Meyer had a straight pass winning with a 5.43, 266.48 MPH. Round two brought on Aaron Olivarez. Olivarez, who qualified No.2 quickly lost the race when he went foul on the starting line. Going red, Olivarez gave up the race to Meyer who ran his best ET for the weekend at 6.39, 180.14 MPH. The semi-final round brought Meyer against Steve Torrance. Although Meyer left the line on Torrance, Meyer couldn’t hold on for the win. Meyer lost the round with a 5.74, 227.73 MPH to Torrance’s 5.31, 261.42 MPH.

Despite defeat in the semi-final round, Meyer is proving to be a solid contender for the Lucas Oil Championship in 2006. Randy Meyer and the entire Randy Meyer Racing team would like to acknowledge Miller Industries Towing Equipment, Meyer Truck Center, Tow Rax, ARP, Autolite, Fram, Goodyear, Aeroquip, Bar’s Leaks Additive, Taylor Cable, Manley, BAE, Hogans, Moroso, Moritz Machine, and 888-CARWRECK for all their continued support.
