    I just got one of these through a trade. I don't know much about it. Racepac said it was discontinued in 1989 and no longer support it. (Due to parts)
    Does anybody have any experience on how it is to be set up?, if you can use 8 EGT's, if you can down load to a laptop (Came with a printer)? I don't have much money in it and really only need the EGT's and RPM readings. The web page says it is a piggy back set up , but I only have the one box.

    Any help or manuals would be great.

    Or is it a door stop?

    Thanks
    Bob

    I've got one of those. Nice little unit (for the 80s), but it can only print to it's printer, and is limited in it's usage.

    I've searched for a 'printer emulation' programme so that I could download it to my laptop, but no such luck, yet (if someone knows of one, PLEASE let me know). It prints LOADS of paper every time, including the inputs that aren't being used. Each graph is based on how long you have it recording for, so keep it to a minimum to reduce paper! I start it printing and then go away and carry on with the usual between-rounds maintenance instead of waiting (it takes a while, dot matrix printers aren't known for their speed...).

    Inputs are;

    'Spark' ERPM (accepts modern pick ups)
    'AUX 1' SRPM ( ditto )
    'Throttle' Used to sense WOT, or any other desired event activated by a switch
    'AUX 2' Same as 'Throttle'
    'Analog' Used for sensing pressure or any other variable analog signal (another RPM...?)

    On the front are two switches and the download/printer port;

    'Display/Sample' Fairly straight forward, 'Display' for printing, 'Sample' for recording (don't forget to set it...)
    'Program' The setting of this switch affects how it records and displays;
    'Sample' 'Program' 'A' or 'B' It starts recording once ERPM reaches or is over 2500 RPM for more than 0.5 seconds (useful, reduces recording time).
    'Sample' Program' 'C' Starts recording when power is turned on.
    'Display' 'Program' 'A' If you are using a WOT switch, the unit will only record ERPMs when at WOT.
    'Display' 'Program' 'B' or 'C' When not using a WOT switch, but using the 'Throttle' input for some other desired event.

    So, unfortunately I don't think there is any way you can use it for EGTs, let alone 8 of them (maybe the analog port, but that would only be for one). I wouldn't biff it, but if you're not going to use it, I'm sure there'll be someone else who could use it. One man's trash...

    Paul.

    I should probably sell mine... :D
