Has anyone used a good race car hauling service that is in or can operate in Canada? I hired a service out of Winnipeg to pick up my Funny car roller in Calgary.
I went through all particulars, explained what the car was and sent a picture of the car, so they would know exactly what they were picking up. I was assured there was no problem. I checked status of the pick up last night. The owner said the low front end might be a concern when loading.
When they arrived the driver refused to pick up the car because it suddenly required an emergency brake. I called the seller and they filled me in on what was going on. The transport service never contacted me to let me know what was going on.
I called the owner of the transport company and suddenly there were alot of issues. They couldn't tie the car down, getting out of the car was a problem, car was too low, etc.
This was a complete waste of time not only for myself but the sellers time as well.
I just want someone who can be trusted and knows what they are doing. Thanks for any suggestions.

    shipping

I bought a funny car body online a year or so ago. I hired Old Dominion freight to haul it out to the chassis shop. The driver showed up and refused to take it because it wasn't crated sufficiently so they could stack things on TOP of it. I am sure the crate would have weighed more than the body- maybe it should have gone on top of the rest of the load? Needless to say I had already paid for the freight charges. What a pain in the butt that was to get my money back and round up another shipping company. Maybe we racers should establish a registry of trucking companies and freighters that are willing to haul our freight and do it right. Dave Germain

    Race Car Hauling

A registry of car haulers sounds like a good idea. May take a bit of work, but with everyone who can supply information about their hauling experience, it should be of good use and save some racers time and money. I will definitely share my experience the next time around. Which should be very soon.
