I am posting this notice on behalf of Joe Kaiser.

On Friday night our racing community lost one of our own, as Rick Stambaugh passed away in his sleep. Rick was a fellow racer and a great friend for over 15 years. Over the years he raced blown alcohol and blown fuel cars on the east coast. His passing is a great loss to me and the racing community. Rick will be truely missed by everyone that knew him. He leaves behind a son, Matt and a daughter, Robin. Please remember the family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Rick Stambaigh will be missed

I didn't know Rick all that well but I will never forget his unwavering support for his son Matt and the sport of drag racing in general. I knew he had health issues for some time but he was always a joy to talk to and offered up some great advice when asked. Whenever Matt was racing, Rick was there doing what he could

Obviously it is a great blow to Matt and his sister Robin. Although Rick will certainly be missed, he will never be forgotten by those of us that knew him, even so briefly.

    Rest In Peace, Rick Stambaugh.

We raced against the Stambaughs at so many tracks over so much time, it's hard to imagine he's gone.

I will always remember our race with them at Lancaster, NY.
The debate was whether to early shut off due to length of shut down or go the full pass route.

Still remember the ensuing conversation that ended up with Matt and Us making a full pass just because we came here to race didn't we?

    He will be missed
