quickdrive pressure

    For all of you running a quickdrive unit (or similar I guess )what pressures are you seeing the unit produce on your racepak (if you are monitoring it)

    let's just say for a hypothetical

    if the pressure should be 175 but now reads 80-100 would that almost act as a bleed and simply not apply power?? making the car slow throughout the entire run.

    Ran 198 mph in the 1/8 th mile last weekend with 82 psi, Dragster , two speed with no lockup

    Just remember, that if you are monitoring pressure where the pressure port is, that is simply the charge pressure of the converter, generally any more than 120psi you are gonna do more damage than good to the drive unit.. If you want to monitor drive pressure, take a pressure ready from where the pill goes into the side.. It will move next to nothing when opening/closing bleeds, but will have a large effect on the pressure reading you take from the top port. Just think of it as volume rather than pressure, the more oil in the converter - tighter the converter acts and vice versa..

    Now throw into the mix smaller diameter converters, then you really have to start thinking!
