Yes, that should be checked at around 3000 rpm when the needle stops jumping. What was your converter to Flexplate clearance. If you don't set it at .160 to .185 it will read low.

What should it read at 3000 Mike? Got a feeling I had more clearance that that? Will be checking that also......Seasons over and FINALLY getting a car ready! Guess I will be more that ready when the snow melts! Time to pull some boat motors now! lol

That pressure is adjustable for different track conditions and different converters but normally 150-160 is a good starting point to see how it leaves.

    Hey Tim,

Just saw this, you may have the problem fixed by now. When I disassembled and cleaned everything, I just screwed the by-pass back in about half way, in other words its not adjusted. I set it at idle, (about 1500 rpm) at 150psi, bumping the throttle would jump about to approx. 165psi, always worked well for me there but I was pretty conservative on launch rpm (2500-2800). Bruno's minimum is 150psi at idle.

Helpful hint here on a Bruno. Set the pressure at 3000 rpm to 150-160 psi and not at idle.
