I know that certain Promods have run converter drives with good success, and Snyder used to run the LencoDrive in his AFC (now a clutch, as per his website).

Has anybody tried a converter drive in a higher HP application like maybe a serious %nitro fuel altered or some other really big HP/TQ application?

Just curious as to whether the converter drive has been pushed that far yet, and with what results ?.....

    Thanks.

We used the Lencodrive and Coan Converter in our NHRA TAD this past season (2009). We ran low 5.50's consistently with our old car and not many runs on a completely new combo for us. We have a new Spitzer car for the upcoming season, and are confident the converter unit can be competitive. Larry Snyder has helped us tremendously. Also there will be another converter Spitzer dragster in TAD next year as well.
