Peanut butter is Detroit Diesel # 2 Universal Lube available through Detroit Diesel or Brad Anderson., About $50.00 a can from either. I use crane cam assemly lube on the balls every day.

    lube?

we had that problem , & then we quit using rocker adj, from brad & pushrods
& replaced it with matton adj"s & pushrods & have never had another issue
& we only lube them if we remove them, but we also dont turn the rpm as a blown car either , 6000, vs 10,000 but our problem always accurred on warm up , & we would notice them purple while running the valves, after the warm up witch is a low rpm around 2 to 3000rpm

We use VP racing Fuels Assembly Lube on the rockers and adjusters and have not had any problem of them burning

we had a problem with the brad adjusters too. they are too soft in my opinion. went to the manton adjusters and fixed the problem as well. manton sells this lube made by tech-line, and it is the best we have ever used. call terry and talk to him about it.

We use Jet Lube MP-50 Moly Paste on our adjusters and pushrods. Works great. We only use it when we have the pushrods out, other than that we just lube with assembly lube inbetween rounds.

One little trick that someone told us too that works good is to lap the pushrod cups into the adjusters with valve lapping compound. After we started doing that we had virtually no problems at all, but before it was nearly 1 pushrod per warm-up.

You can also machine an annular groove on both sides of the oil hole in the bushings of the rockers. This will allow the oil to flow to the pushrods for a longer period of time.

torco spray lube is all we use on the valve train..with never a problem.
we use the peanut butter as a torque compound on head studs, washers, ect. and the cost is around $50.00 for a quart. if you need torco stuff call Ron Shanks Racing he has the best price 1-918-366-6050 tell him chrome sent you. he is getting ready to put in an order soon.

The Torco Lubricants company is a completely different company and ownership than Evan Knoll's Torco Race Fuels. We thought they were related companies too but the Snyders set us straight last spring. I actually believe VP is more supportive of Sportman racing through there contingency program than Torco oil is. That being said we use the Torco lube also.

SecondWind is right the peanut butter is a torquing compund for head studs/ nuts, and washers only! Don't use it on anything else. Lucas makes an assembly lube that really helps eliminate pushrod failures.
