    Hi

We are running a HH Retro 16-71 32% OD on a 14' Big Cheif BBC in our altered at the moment, does anyone have any opinions on swapping over to a "D" series PSI at 70% OD, mainly looking for any issues that people may have had running a PSI on a Big Block Chevy.

    Cheers
    Marc

I'd reconsider that 70 over, and be thinking more like 115 over

    206D on a BBC

    Teenracer
I have been running a 206D on by 500 inch BBC for 4 years now, what do you need to know? If it is the fuel set up ? there is the only one guy I know that can make them idle correctly and not burn up the rotor coating and that is Lonnie Houde, his number is 508 776 4898, our set up made so much low end power I ended up putting on a 6 shooter and a leahy timmer to control the amount of power we are putting to the starting line, and dropped my over all timing to 30* . if you would like to talk you can call me on my cell 707 974 3185 any time.

    good luck

    Hi Guys

In our class at the moment we have a maximum limit of 72% OD for PSI screw blowers and 33% for 16-71 HH.

We are building a 14' BBC 526 ally engine at the moment and we are considering going over to the screw blower side, just wondering what boost etc we would see at 72% OD, and is there any problems with the crankshaft pulleys etc, looking for any down side of going to screw blowers?

We can run up to 125% OD in Top Alcohol Altered trim but we would need to run 5.70's all day every day to be competitive, and in an 2200 lb altered that is quite a feat, mainly because they want to use both lanes etc at the best of times

Best we have run is 6.06 @ 225mph with the 16-71 with our current 468cuin iron block which normally is around the 42 - 45lbs of boost.

Butch what side of the US are you on?

    Cheers
    Marc

    Hi Butch,

Last meet it was 3000ft and 38'C, we vary from -200ft up to 3500ft during our 6 month season, if I has to pick an average it would be around 1000 -1500ft.

    Cheers

    206D on a BBC

    Marc,
How fast do you want to go, I know it is a loaded question? on my set up, 500 inch motor 10,200 deck block 12.1 to 1, stock dart 360 heads no fancy port jobs or valve train, at 1000 to 1500 feet we are running 6.0X's 236 to 238 MPH all day long real easy tune no hurt parts at 55%, if you get some time in the next few days give me a call, I would be more then happy to answer any of your questions.

    good luck

    Butch
