We just got a D rotor for our 540 Chevy. I can't think of anybody that ran one other than Houde/Filikins. Anybody know of another team that tried it and ran good?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Psi

People have got to understand, Just because you put a PSI on a car doesn't mean it will go fast. It is like alot of other things in life. It is the whole package. And understanding what you need to do, and have the money and time to put out. to do it. Good luck Don

I don't expect it to go fast..just faster than our roots!lol. Anybody with a good running big chief has paid their dues. One of the best lessons we learned was get knowledge from people who've already done it...even if it costs money.
In this day of screwblown BAE's it's hard to find the knowledge on an oddball combo.

While it's not a Big Chief it's kinda close, with a 481x, Mike Recchia went 5.77 @ 242 with a Bruno/converter in a door car at Joliet a couple of months back. This picture has his old PSI roots on it. PSI-C, 529 cu in. and not a Hemi.

We ran 6.20s @ 226 in a dragster back in '93 with an old psi blower on a 526 rodeck big chief. It broke lifters and rocker arms, bent pushrods and pushed out headgaskets @ 43 lbs of boost. It was all my fault, I think? It was pretty fast here in alaska back then though.

Im not trying to be a smart ass, Im just that way. I still have the engine I mentioned above. Well it's got new heads, a different block... a 14-71hh. but some of the bolts are the same and the intake and crank, I think its the same crank?

Assuming you aready have the right valve notches, the longer exhaust rockers, good lifters and humongous pushrods and valve springs. I'd say you'd need more intake valve spring pressure for the PSI blower. 20 psi more boost works out to pull almost 100lbs off the intake spring on a 2.45 intake valve.
