Psi injector- dow coating ?

Anyone had a deep throat injector recoated???
Got one getting a little tired looking.

 

Mine picked up some surface crud while in storage. What I plan to do is powder coat it in the very near future (body gloss black - lip simulated chrome). Roger's comment to me awhile back was to make sure to use a low temp powder coat process, and my powder coat guy seems to think that should be doable. I don't know a thing about re-Dow coating. If you hear of anything in that regard please let me know, as I do have an old mag rootes hat that I want to restore for another vintage correct looking blown deal. Thanks.

 

If you're looking for the gold color on Magnesium, the process is Dow 7. The "trick" is that you have to talk to the guy doing it, and have him pull it out about half way thru the process. Otherwise, it'll be dark brown. BT,DT.

I've heard of places like b.a.e. Re-dowing their valve covers, wasnt sure if psi did the same. Anyone know how the procedure is done?

 

There are two processes; first dow7, which is an anodizing; and the second, dow17, which goes all of the way thru the pores of the metal-allowing the coating to last longer. The best deal on the dow 7 coating was thru Aerodynamic Plating in Gardena, CA. The phone number is 310-329-8383.

 

I had my magnesium PSI funny car injector hat recoated several years ago when I sent it back to PSI. They did a great job on it. Now the Dow coating has a nice gloss finish to it as compared to a flat finish beforehand. It turned out to be much better than the original.

I coated a mag intake awhile back using Jet Hot out of Oklahoma I think. They can do mag in different colors had mine done in black inside and out, never came off or even looked like it was thinking about it, very durable.
