Anyone have an idea of how much these things weigh? I'm talking crank drive, brackets, unit, tube, blow-off valve, etc., combined. To me it seems like a heck of a lot of weight hung say 2 feet in front of the motor. That must change a bunch of balance considerations?........

I know some of the strong runners are in the 50-52% range. I’ve done a couple that were in the 56-57% range but we had the engine centerline a little higher for rack clearance issues and it worked out pretty good. The rack is definitely an issue.

    50% on a promod?!?!???

    That seems impossible to me.

I tried 52% at 1800 hp and it wasn’t happening. At 53.5 it was fine. I can’t imagine how higher hp could tolerate a lighter nose

How high was your Instant Center when you tried it? I ran 52% with more HP than that at 8 3/4" up & would consistently do .960-.970's 60' on a decent track.

I didn’t calculate IC. 1.5 degree down bottom bar, 12 degree down top bar close to housing.

Maybe the 102” WB is part of it. Only other car I’ve worked on is 104” WB. Maybe the longer cars don’t need as much nose weight?

I ran bottom bars uphill 3/8". I've noticed many of the big tire guys are taking some of what small tire racers have been doing getting crazy short times and not carrying the front end. If you look under a radial car you will see short & very high IC so the bottom bars are uphill. It will drive the rear of the car back towards ride height after launch. Yes a 102" wheelbase is pretty short. Anyway, just some observations on how trends change.
