Esz Wins 3rd Straight PTO Event at Edgewater Raceway Park

    Next Up Farmington Dragway – July 27th & 28th

In June, Edgewater Raceway Park hosted the Pro Top Outlaw series for the Ohio Crankshaft PTO Nationals. The series, that showcases super charged alcohol and nitrous funny cars, dragsters and alterds, put on another spectacular show for the southeastern Ohio spectators with 3 second runs at over 180 MPH.

Pro Top Outlaw competitor Tom Mueller earned the number one qualifying spot for the second straight event. He went on to the semi-final round before losing to eventual race winner Phil Esz who earned the holeshot victory by running a 3.948 to Mueller’s 3.947. In the other semi-final match-up, Brandon Booher picked up the win running a 3.98, when Adam Trauth ran low ET of the event, 3.921, but turned on the red light. In the finals, Booher had the advantage off the line but slowed to a 4.03 when he lost his blower belt giving Esz who ran a 3.92 enough room to earn the win light. Last years defending champion Esz picked up his third win of the season with the victory at his home track and extended his points lead over Booher and Toby Chapman who sit in second and third, respectively.

In Pro Top Bandit competition, Glenn Woods picked up his first win of the season when he ran a 4.19 at 166.69 against Dean Karns. Karns, who was appearing in his second straight final round ran a 4.23 at 164.32 MPH.

Next up for the series is the Farm PTO Nationals at Farmington Dragway. The Pro Top Outlaws will hit the track for the first time on Friday under the lights for the “Night of Fire” at 8 PM. The competitors will get two more shots on Saturday at 4 PM and 5:30 PM. Eliminations will begin at 7 PM and continue throughout the evening until the Bandits and the Outlaws have each crowned a champion.

    Friday Spectator Tickets: $10
    Saturday Spectator Tickets: $15

    Rain Date: Sunday, July 29th

The series has a contingency program in place as well as payouts for each event. This could not be possible without the support from the following sponsors, Fowler Engines, Flatout Gaskets, Stroud Safety, Renegade, Mickey Thompson Tires, R&R Racing Products, Performance Torque Converters, Aaron Sipple Engineering, Handi Hauler, No Limit Race Cars, Vickery Speed Shop , Victory Performance, Ohio Crankshaft , W & M Enterprises Inc., Snyder Motorsports, Spitzer Race Cars, Northern Plumbing LLC and RWR Motorsports.

As PTO continues to grow they are looking for new members to join the organization. To find out more about the Pro Top Outlaw Series please click on the link below www.ProTopOutlaws.com.
