Guys, I wanted to update those that have supported the Pro-Sportsman association thus far and encourage those that have not yet done so to join in and help us. As well, I wanted to address some concerns that we have heard around the pits at the last national event.

As a result of the conversations in the pits at the Gainesville National event, The Pro-Sportsman Association recognizes that some comments that were made during the formation or our organization were quoted that do not represent the values and intentions of this organization. As an organization made up of racers, fans, and manufacturers, we fully understand how critical it is for success in all our venues to work together for the long term good of our sport. This specifically means that as a family of racers, our success is tied together whether we are Pro-Sportsman members or not. While we encourage everyone interested in the long term health of our sport to join us, we want to assure our fellow racers that this association in no way condones treating other racers any differently based on membership status.

I have a few other comments to make:

    1. As a guy who has spent his own money racing for the last 20 years, I understand the reluctance to spend money to join. On the other hand, my concern for the health of our class has caused me to act in some way that may make a difference. I sincerely believe the work that the people involved have done so far and the hiring of Todd Veney to work on our behalf are the right things to do. We are seeing results already.

    2. None of us are in any way benefiting financially from this endeaver, and in fact some have spent their own money to get this effort off the ground. We will share any financial information about the organization requested by any member.

    3. For those of us who are committed NHRA racers, myself included, we are in no way trying to compete or otherwise work to undermine the NHRA organization. In fact, NHRA is well aware or our work and we are in regular contact with them through Todd.

I will continue to provide updates over the coming weeks. I, just like you, have a family and work a full time job, and try to race. I have little time to waste, and could leave this effort and lose nothing, except maybe the ability to do what I love to do. I already lost all the points meets in Texas. Let's put excuses, personalities, and pride behind us and try and make a difference.
