I've been thinking about upgrading to a MSD 44 Pro Mag with crank trigger. I'm currently running a Mallory Super Mag 4 with a Tilton Super Starter. Do any of you guys running a 44 Pro Mag get away with running 12 volt battery and block starter? I really really want to keep my block mount starter b/c I have a very limited crew (mostly my dad) and want to keep it simple on the starting line for him. If a 12 volt battery is not enough will a 16 volt do the job.

No problem at all with 16 volts just don't use the crank trigger on start up. There is tons of info on this board about this subject just hit search.

I've used a 16 volt for over two years (ROCK BATT.) I also start off the crank trigger, just spin the motor a second before you flip the switch, and set the trigger gap to around .050.
