Pray again...

Big Mike and Matt Thornton take care of the engine on our team. Matt does the bottom end and is as good as they get. I already shared Mike's tragedy.

Last night I got a call from the hospital. Matt's brother Tommy (I think he's 49) had an accident where he fell about 8 feet while servicing the air conditioning unit at his home in Palm Desert last week. Over the last few days it has been determined that Tommy's brain was severe damage in the fall. Now the family is looking to Matt to make the decision whether or not to remove his own brother from life support today as I type this. Matt wants to do what he knows his brother would want him to do, but to make this kind of decision is ripping the hearts out of Matt and his family.

Matt has been a part of our racing efforts over the last 30+ years and is as much a part of the racing family as anyone. Please pray for strength for Matt to make the right decision as he takes responsibilty in this terrible situation.

Another tragic accident, hopefully all of these accidents will discontinue to happen and we can all get back to positive thoughts and events.

No prob. Will pray for you to randy. I know it affects not only there imediate family but everyone close as well. Im just now recouping from my family stuff from a few years back. Im praying hard brother

 

I'm sorry to hear about a fallen brother in our large family. I wish his family and friends the best and hope for some good news to come from this...

I work as a respiratory therapist and run into this (sadly on a regular basis).Its tough and stinks all I can say is its tough to make this decision but you kind of have to step back take a good look at your own feelings and do what the person wants,I KNOW its a real tough thing to do but you have to do what they want and you cant blame or give yourself and added guilt all your doing is honoring there wishes.

 

Just a quick update.

Matt's brother Tommy went home to be with the Lord on Thursday.
