Pro Top Outlaws Prepare for Fourth Season

The Pro Top Outlaws, formally IHRA Pro Outlaw, formally Super Eliminator are entering their fourth season bigger and better than ever. These sportsman racers all run blown alcohol or nitrous engines and usually dip into the 3.80's in the eighth mile. The club runs thirteen races a year and have signed up ten tracks so far for the 2005 season. "We have quite a few tracks that ask us to come back every year because the crowds love to hear those blowers wind up" Says club president, Ron Bales.

The thirty member group will kick off the season at Emerald Coast Dragway in Holt, Florida on April 2nd with an eight car field and wind up the current season schedule September 17th at Kil-Kare Dragway in Xenia, Ohio. The tour will be highlighted by a sixteen car field that will headline the Kil-Kare Buckeye Nationals for the fourth consecutive year on August 16th, which is always the quickest and largest event on the tour. Ron went on to say,"Last year we had wheelstanding dragsters running in the 3.80's and a couple of the guys forgot where the end of the track was. We broke a few cars, but nobody got hurt."

PTO has always run IHRA top dragster rules and are the fastest Sportsman class on the planet; however, this year an exciting change has been thrown into the mix as IHRA legal alcohol funny car combinations are allowed if they run an altered body. This will provide racers an alternative place to go since IHRA cut the funny car field from 16 to 8 cars.

Once again PTO will provide a championship points fund and contingency program. For more information on race dates, booking information, or to join go to www.protopoutlaws.com.
