BRANDON PIERCE RETURNS “HOME” TO THUNDER VALLEY

NOBLE, Okla. -- Brandon Pierce and the Sooner One Motorsports Top Alcohol Dragster team return to Thunder Valley Raceway Park for the Division 4 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, Sept. 16-18. Pierce, who was born and raised in Oklahoma, is very familiar with this track after racing here for more than a decade.

A former Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street racer, the 29-year old driver was a part of two championship teams representing Thunder Valley for the Division 4 ET Finals. He earned his Top Alcohol Dragster license in 2003.

“I hope to do well this weekend, since Thunder Valley is where I practically grew up. My team and I have been working hard and improving all year, and the car is running great. We’re going to give it our best shot,” said Pierce.

Pierce, who now resides in Glendora, Calif. is currently ranked eighth in the NHRA Division 4 points for Top Alcohol Dragster. His last event was a match race at Eddyville Raceway Park in Iowa two weeks ago, where he defeated both of his rivals, NHRA Division 5 champion Randy Meyer and Troy Kaiser.

Coming off that performance, the team has high hopes for this weekend. They will have their first qualifying attempt on Friday at 8 p.m. Saturday will include two more qualifying passes at 3 and 7 p.m. Eliminations for Top Alcohol Dragster begin on Sunday at noon.
