Snyder’s Weekend Ends in the Quarterfinals

Mick Snyder, driver of the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car, was in Brainerd, Minnesota this past weekend at the Lucas Oil Nationals. The Team qualified 6th for the event and put four very consistent numbers on the board. Even though they picked up ET throughout the weekend, it still wasn’t enough to take out their competitor in the quarterfinal round.

“This is a great team. We are capable of going out and winning races, we just need to put it all together. Our operation is still very young compared to most of the people running in the Top Alcohol Funny Car class. We learn something new every weekend and are continuing to see improvement in our set up,” said Snyder.

In qualifying the Team ran a 5.75, good for the 6th qualifying position. In the first round, Snyder ran a 5.73 at 252 MPH to get the round win. The 25 year-old driver cut a great .024 light in the quarterfinal match-up and ran a 5.71 at 253 MPH but was unable to hold off his opponent.

“We would love to go out and win every event we attend, but we all know how in this sport you can be on top of the world one day and at the bottom of the hill the next. As we continue to change the car we will continue to improve. The results will come.”

The next event for the Team will be in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the divisional event August 25th – 27th.
