Snyder Continues Title Defense in Joliet

Current defending champion and Division 3 points leader Mick Snyder will continue his title defense in Joliet, IL this weekend at the Lucas Oil Divisional Series event. The Snyder Motorsports / Knoll Gas – Torco Race Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car driver is returning to the track for the first time since he hit the wall last month during the Jeg’s All-Star event.

“We have spent the last month taking care of our business, Snyder Motorsports, and getting the car repaired and ready to go. I don’t want to say it was fortunate that I hit the wall, but the timing of the situation was pretty good for us. We had already planned to take about a month off so we had plenty of time to thoroughly go through everything. I know the team and I are really excited to get back out there after such a long break in the middle of the race season,” Snyder said.

“We love coming to this track because it is so close to our shop and it is an excellent facility. Last year we runner-upped at this event; hopefully this year we will be able to get this Knoll Gas – Torco Race Fuels car in the winner’s circle.”

The Team, which is based out of DeMotte, Indiana, already has earned one win and two runner-up finishes this year.

Friday evening the Team will make their first qualifying effort at 5 PM. On Saturday they will receive two more shots at 5 PM and 8 PM. Eliminations will begin at 1 PM on Sunday and continue throughout the day. To keep up with the Team’s progress throughout the weekend please log onto www.dragracecentral.com.
