Quarterfinal Finish for Snyder in Indy

Moves up to 4th in National Points

The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Race Fuels ended a good weekend at the U.S. Nationals with a quarterfinal loss to the eventual race champion. With the finish, the team moved up into 4th place in the National points standings.

“It would have been nice to go more rounds on Monday, but we are very happy with our performance this past weekend. We learned a lot more about the car and we feel that it will just continue to improve as we enter the last few races of the year,” said Snyder.

The Team qualified 4th in the very quick Top Alcohol Funny Car field with a 5.62 at 256 mph. In first round Sunday night, Snyder left on his opponent and never looked back. He took the win light with a 5.64 at 255 MPH. In the second round, Snyder ran a 5.62 at 256 MPH but was unable to take the win light at the other end.

“Frank (Manzo) has his car running great right now. He put down the 7th quickest run in the history of the class against us second round. That is why he is the king. This team is still young in so many ways. We continue to modify our set-up each weekend and we continue to run better. That is the key to success down the road.”

The next event for the Snyder Motorsports Race Team will be in Columbus, Ohio at the Lucas Oil Divisional, September 21st thru 24th.
