Snyder Clinches Jeg’s All Star Appearance
3rd Straight Final Round Appearance, 3rd Straight #1 Qualifier

The Snyder Motorsports / TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car, driven by 24 year-old Mick Snyder, earned a runner-up finish in the Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series opener held in Indianapolis this past weekend. It was the third final round for the reigning back-to-back Division 3 champions in as many events. That was all they needed to clinch the Jeg’s All-Star spot for Division 3 in Top Alcohol Funny Car.

The Purdue University graduate, drove the Lencodrive Transmission / Coan Converter equipped Firebird to the number one qualifying position for the 3rd straight race. A feat that earned him the Spitzer Low Qualifier series award for the weekend.

“We are pleased with our performance this weekend; I mean, how could we be upset? We have qualified number one and made it to three straight final rounds. It would still be nice to get another win. We felt like the car was responding well to our adjustments, in the final we just didn’t give ourselves a chance when we shook the tires,” Snyder admitted. “Being the Jeg’s All-Star for Division 3 is so exciting for myself and the entire team. It is such an honor to represent this great group of competitors from the ‘Land of the Winners’. Hopefully, my All-Star teammates and I will be able to bring home that divisional championship this year.”

Snyder qualified #1 for the event at 5.71 at 250 mph, almost a tenth better than his closest competitor. In the first round of eliminations, Snyder ousted his opponent and earned lane choice in the semi-finals by covering the quarter-mile in 5.71 seconds at 249 mph. In his second round match-up, Snyder was first off the line and took the win light with a 5.73 at 251 mph. Final round, he was once again first off the line with a great .030 light, but the car shook hard and he coasted across the finish line.

“Evan, Brian, Latrell and all the great people in the TORCO Racing Fuels family have been so good to us the past couple of years. We are really happy that we have been able to start off the season so well and give their products some additional attention on the racing circuit. We can’t begin to thank them enough for their support of our operation.”

The next event for the Team will be the TORCO Racing Fuels Invitational held in Martin, Michigan on May 13th.

The Team would like to thank our major sponsor TORCO Racing Fuels and our associate sponsors Coan Converters, Flatout Gaskets, Lencodrive Racing Transmissions, Long Printing, R & R Racing Products and Snyder Auto for their continued support this year.
