Looking to use a Pour in Seat insert., there are a few different brands on the market, which are the better ones to use, we have a small driver with a reasonable big cage in a Top alcohol Funnycar.

G force Racecars sells a nice kit that doesn't harden up as fast as ISp so you can make adjustments. Isp takes people who know what there doing to install it. Seen guys at the track ruin a kit by never doing one before

    seat

I wish I could recall the brand names, but I've done 2 of these seats.
The first one uses tiny beads in a bag that your pour in a mixture, put it in the car, sit in there (w/ full race suit), hook-up a little vacuum ti it, and 1/2 hr later it's set & you can trim it up & spray glue on the fire cloth material.
It really worked great, lots of extra materiel, and to this day still has a little 'cushion' to it.
It was not the ISP, but i believe a copy.

Last year I need another one for a second car, thought I bought the same thing, but ended it up with a pc of crap.
It used materiel that ended up looking & forming up like spray foam, hard as a rock, not enough of it to do a proper seat, could not release the bag from it, and I just threw the piece of s**t in the trash.

Morel: Your fit & comfort in the car is worth a ton, for both safety & allowing your body to properly absorb launches of 3 G's +, so don't cheap out.

    Seat insert

I did a butler? i think it was the same as the ISP.. now this was a few years ago. maybe they are better now.

Lots of hard spots. Set up way too fast to work it. had to do 2nd pour to get enough under me. sanded and cut on it for hours. At PRI i looked at Baldspot seats. much softer when finished and i think they set up much slower to give you some working time.

i would look into the Baldspot. probably others similar to this too.

I love the fit i would never race in a pan type seat again without a poured insert.

I have done several with the beads. I have found bald spot to be a great kit. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

This may be the 'bead system' mentioned above. Jeff Garvin is a nice guy, he talks a little too much ;-) but he stands behind his product. He has been in the automotive industry for some time and knows his stuff. I last saw Jeff at the Gainesville National earlier this year. He was carrying around a sample of this bead stuff formed into a seat insert. Next time I need a new seat insert (I currently use an ISP) I plan to give Garvin's insert a try.
