There will be an announcement I regards to the regional stucture and schedule on Saturday. I'm hearing 3 regions, 7 races per region, 9 in the east.

Hearing 4 d1 races (one in Virginia) 4 d3 races (drop Columbus). Heard great bend and brainerd are gone. West will be two woodburns, mission sonoma and two vegas races.

Also heard that all Hans and other 38.1 head and neck restraints mfg prior to Jan 1 2009 will need to be sent in for recert.

I cant beleive I just moved to Texas and now no Divisionals. At least we have the Nationals. I wonder what the points requirements will be to get free entry to Nationals.

On the Hans, who do we send them back to? Dennis Taylor or back to the manufacturer?

Mark, Go to Hans site, you will need to fill out the info, and get a number to return it. Pay the $30 and send it away. If you have the quick disconnects it will cost around $100 + Got it back in about a week. Really easy. Don

Can we get word from someone 'in the know' on whether it's going to be 8 car or 16 car fields?

    field size

I have never had any indication that NHRA would consider paid 16 car fields. The discussed format was 8 car fields with #9 and #10 non-qualifier money. In my opinion, The only way they would consider 16 car fields is only paying the top 8 qualifiers, then paying round money. All 1st round losers would maike that run for free.

    Hope that helps,
    Marty

PS. I don't believe you will see a huge increase in event attendance with this change. My guess would be about 20% increase on average (ie. 10 cars become 12). Then again, I'm wrong alot.
