    spring compressor

I use a MTI but it may depend on air pressure required. I never shopped around for mine. Just bought it when needed. Don

The Snap On will provide three times the air pressure supplied , I guess in other words I have a single stage compressor set to max of 125lbs so the spring compressor will supply 375lbs well thats the seat preasure for our springs, is that going to work right?

I bought a Snap On and it will NOT compress the spring. My sprng pressure is #450..... MTI is the way to go.

MTI, that is Meliany Troxel they live in co. that is the only wat to go I know a guy that might sell his he is out of racing..you might need to machine your heads to beable to use the spring cups with the lips on them..the guy that has the MTI gun is Roger Heckert his number is 620-875-1947 tell him Dave Lowe sent you, he has been helping scott palmer on his fuel car but i think scott already had one from his alcohol days...Dave

Actually it was Mike Troxell now its Mel's and they are in Avon In.

They are finicky I cant use mine on any Fuel heads with Ti springs. Ora's C-clap style is much faster

If you dont have a problem using the old way get the c-clamp syle
the one you have to turn the handle
never seen a spring it wont do very easy
you have much better control of it when releasing it

I've used both. On the bench, used the MTI. If it's on the block, use Ora's. Ora's c-clamp is a nice billet piece with acme threads. It would compress anything.

As I emailed a couple of guys back about.I was able to pick up a manual one that I think is similar to the one you guys are describing.
It has a t-handle and it is supposed to be very easy to use.
Dave you know the guy I am getting it from he is Howard from Pfulgerville Tx he is selling his whole Pro Mod outfit and I am buying a couple of his tools.
Thanks to all the guys who have offered help it is very appreciated.

    Barry:

Melanie can sell you a kit that converts it to a "C" clamp style pretty reasonable. The air cylinder and valves are the same. I did it to mine several year ago and it works like a champ.

    Hope all is well.
