Whats the latest for hemi plug wires?
We ran MSD and they were indestructible other than ohm values going up.
Bought a set of Taylor that use the MSD plastic end and within a few runs the terminals slipped in the boots and lost connection. Its really hard to feel the engagement.
I talked to Firecore and they said the terminals can move as well if not treated carefully.
I used to apply dielectric grease and then moved to brakekleen on my chevy. Didn't seem necessary on MSD wires with hemi. Seems like the plug boot is bonded on them.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Why not stick with the MSD wires. There are so many racers that have great success with them. Yes, you hear guys saying they have problems with them but that is a small percentage compared to the guys that don't have problems. I talked to one guy that complained and found that he had two seasons on his plug wires. It seems that one of the biggest problems with plug wires on a ProMag 44 fired motor is the insulation breaking down and not the rise in resistance through the wires. There is nothing you can do to test for the insulation breaking down other than running your hand up and down the plug wire with the motor running. According to the MSD guys in the trailer that attend national events is that most problems are caused by aged out plug wires and especially the coil wire that gets eight times the usage. I know some racers that change the coil wire every race and the plug wires two to three times a season. High voltage takes the path of least resistance so the high the cylinder pressures the harder it is for the spark to jump the plug gap so if it finds an easier path through aged insulation then it is going to go that way and not to the plug.

MSD are really good, but must be assembled properly. Buy the tool and all parts from MSD, then be careful that the plug clip is positioned correctly in the boot and crimp is good on the mag end. Liquid soap as a lubricant really helps.

I've used the Moroso hemi wires and have had really good success with them. So well I'm gonna get another set.

    Moroso

We ended up with Moroso on our Chevy and they easily beatdown msd. Is the plug end rock solid? That's the question. I have zero complaints with msd except the ohms get out of spec in about 40 runs. We have all the correct crimp tools.

I have run moroso for at least 5 years now and everyone I know has switched to them. Great luck with them.
