yeah he told me the same thing.i did'nt like the resistance and breakdown of the msd's anyway.far happier with the mallory solids but i don't have a data logger.i even threw away my shift light as that never worked once..msd wires will work but hard on the mag he said.could use just a msd coil wire and try your best to shield and isolate the logger.there is a TON of info on this subject in the archives.good luck........

If you put your datalogger inside a well-earthed STEEL box, and sheild all your sensor cables with the shield earthed at both ends, you should be able to eliminate most, if not all, electrical interference. Make sure any cables for the datalogger are run well away from the ignition system.

use to use solid spiral core taylors with my mallory mag, they last forever and they work great but they still interfere with electronics.

The resistance in the non solid MSD wires or other non solid wires is transperant to high voltage and their is no reduction in final voltage out.

i use thundervolt 50's from taylor... have made back to back runs... there is no loss from the mallory solids. i had always heard that too... and i called bs. so i had to try it myself.

run an msd now so it's a moot point for me... but if you want a data logger or even a functional tach make the switch man... and remember to change them occasionally and the coil wire 'wears out' 8x faster
