I want to buy a golf cart for at the race track for pulling my altered around. Should I go with a gas or electric? A local outfit have a bunch of 2003 and newer Yamaha gas and electric carts for sale all serviced ready to go but I'm not sure what to buy? My car weights 2100lbs with driver,2 crew members, and I want to put a flip down rear seat so I can put my battery pack and tools so that would be 100-150 lbs I would think.

The gas cart will do the job and you don't have to worry about keeping the batteries charged or the expense of replacing them. A 2003 model that came from a golf course will be due from batteries if they haven't been replaced. You may have to buy a jet kit for the carb if you go to a higher or lower altitude than what the cart was set up for. The local dealer can help with that. Over all the gas job will be less expensive in the long run. We use ours at 1500 - 2000 ft and when we go to Denver and the D.A. goes to 9000 ft plus we change jets., 10 minutes.
    Good Luck!

I would also opt for the gas cart. I use mine to pull my FC at 2375 plus starter battery pack and 4 crew members. Kevin
