    Pistons with Teflon?

I have never run an engine with Teflon in the skirts, but the motor we bought has it. Some of the buttons in the skirts have come out and are gone.

My question is. Can I run the pistons with out them, or can I get new ones to put back in?
The bores look great even on the cylinders that are missing the buttons.

It is a 4.250 bore Hemi. There are no markings on the pistons to know what brand they are.

We also never had run Brooks 88 rods. Does any body know the bolt torque?

    Thanks
    Bob

save yourself a lot of headaches bob, if you hurt the motor in any way , just play it safe and replace all the rods, pistons, and wrist pins. the wrist pins are as crucial as the rods. its like the old fram commercial, "you can pay now...or pay later." as for the torque on the brooks 88's.... if the bolts have black washers they get torqued to 90 lbs... but if you didn't put them in origonaly.... replace them all.

things are looking good for everything except time. lots of new stuff for this year , just can't seem to get the time to work on my own to prepare for this season. of coarse NHRA only. i haven't owned a roots blower in over 3 years.
