how about that field of floppers in phoenix? jason rupert puts up a '.60 takes number one in the last pair!!!?!!!?. takes a '.705 just to make the show. STOUT!!
Way to go Ruperts, nice job to Gordon and everyone else in the field. this bump at 5.705 even eclipsed the bump at the 2006 last chance Vegas divisional. I think that makes it the quickest TAFC field ever? BRAD L ?????

5.705 quickest TAFC bump in history

That is indeed the quickest divisional field ever. Prior to Las Vegas in 2006 (5.710, Doug Gordon on bump), the quickest field was from Las Vegas in 2003 (5.733, Robert Lee on bump). That is stout.
Congrats to Jason Rupert for his second career No. 1 qualifying spot (his first was at the Pomona division race in 2002 that he went on to win).
Also congrats to Ron August for his second career divisional win (his first was Sacramento 2003).

 

Jason's spark plugs

Apparently Jason's car broke a spark plug causing his early exit. Anybody else have these problems with the NGK plugs? Dave Germain

 

We've broken a couple of them too, but for the most part, 1 of 8 breaking only 2 times in over 60 laps is just the luck of the draw on that particular run since we swap them every 1 to 2 passes max.
