Hi everyone Scott here with the usual questions,

Upgrading from one parachute to two this winter and wondering what the best location is for anchoring parachutes. Currently the anchor point is the rear frame at the bumper of the car. I have seen a lot of both frame and rear end mount. Ideas?

2580lb (slowly dropping weight) 70 Camaro, fabricated rear, 521 NRE head, C-rotor, etc. Mostly 1/8 mile, some 1/4

    TIA

Also, pilot chute (what I have now) or spring launcher. I don't have air on the car for an air launcher.

    Thanks

I used to have my chute tether on the diff but after a lot of research, most people felt that having chutes mounted below the CG of the car would cause the rear to possibly unload. The tether points closest to the center of gravity would be best. On my car this was the rear frame. When I upgraded to 2 chutes I just added gussets to the frame rails so they wouldn't flex from the added pull.

    My 2 cents
