Hi all, I want to respray my dragster which has magnesium panels. What I need to know is, will paint stripper effect the panels, and do I just use etch primer then normal 2 pac paint ? Any other advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I stripped mine with automotive paint stripper and it didn't hurt the mag panel at all. Just wash down with laquer thiner when done stripping. I also used a self etching primer, Dupont.. Good luck...

    SLAYER had good advice

i seen this early this morning decided not to reply because i didnt what you all to think i reply to every thing BUT thanks dave for the push up YES stripper will work then wipe it down with laquaer thinner then scuff it down real good with a red scuff pad then use a self etching primer allow plenty of drying time and you should be ready for your base coat color
