This is a question to any ITA members who have a pacemaker. Is it safe to be working on or starting a car equipped with a pro mag 44 if you have a pacemaker. I have ask
MSD and the pacemaker mfg. but no one can tell me anything.

I plan on giving up my job standing on the pass side of the car starting the car and pulling the ground wire off. I just want to make sure that's all to need to do.

    thanks TD

Based on my electrical engineering background and what I know about the electromatic interference radiated out by the mag and along the plug wires I would say that it would not be recommended to stand close to the engine when it starts or is running. We built data recorders years ago but had a real hard time making them work on a car with a Promag 44 because of the radiated interference. This is also why Racepak will not recommend a V300 with a VNet on a funny car because of the interference on the VNet.
