Northwest blown alcohol racers that are looking for some heads up racing this season should consider a couple of races coming up. The first one is April 16-17 at Woodburn Dragstrip as they will be hosting a Pro Comp featured event open to front and rear engine Dragsters, Alterds, Funny Cars and Pro Mods. It's a 16 car field and it's wide open. There is a 6.70 index but racers that can't quite run that number are encouraged to still enter. Come check out Woodburn's new all-concrete track!

The second Northwest Pro Comp race is scheduled for May 7 hosted by Renegade Raceway in Yakama Washington. This race is an eighth mile event but look on the bright side you likely won't tear up any parts!

Interested racers can call the tracks for further information or leave a message here on this board and I'll do my best to get your question answered quickly. I hope we get a lot of participation so we can have more of these events in the future.

Hi Dean, it's not so much a series as it is a string of events that we are doing both independently and with the Pacific ProComp group who has association races in Oregon and California. The first two races on the schedule are independently ran events by both Woodburn and Yakama tracks. We hope this will lead to more races as there are sadly fewer and fewer top alcohol cars up here so hopefully we can fill a void.

We are not interested in running NHRA Top Dragster as our cars aren't conducive to the division series so we are just doing our own thing. This year we have more races than ever. There are three other cars that we are running with us including Jeff Kritenbrink who has a funny car, and Garry Fauble and Ed Wells. Both Ed and Garry have rear engine blown alcohol dragsters. It's a super good group of racers to race with and i hope we all have a lot of fun with minimal carnage.

If anyone want to join our informal schedule including Dean's group feel free to leave a message.

what kind of purse and entry are you self funded.

My deal is likely a dial in but I would like an idex around the 6.5-6.8 range ideally. There are five guys up here that run 6.10 to 6.50 all the time.

The track comes up with the purse. Some tracks there is an entry fee but at others there is not. Basically if an open field, heads up start and a 6.70 index meaning the car looses if it goes under the 6.70 index. The index is there just to keep it "affordable" if there is no index then it gets expensive.
