Does anyone have info on using firebottles on an open cockpit 23T? Most people say set it up like a funny car with nozzles pointed to both driver and motor. My question is I think the nozzles pointed at the front of the motor when set off is just going to blow the chemical back at me, probably covering my helmet visor. Without the funny car body to block the wind, would the motor nozzles even be effective? Any Thoughts?

Have same type of car, took fire system off for the reason you described, and also the wind speed would probably negate the usefullness of the fire system during a run.

What if you blowup just off the starting line, hit the wall, and had a fire, I` would bet you would be glad you had the system then, plus it`s mandatory in blown alky alt. Plus thats why you have a wind screen:rolleyes:

Have A Fuel Altered , Removed Fire Bottles Up Front , Only Have Then For Driver Compartment. And It Will Come Back In Your Face If Left On The Motor Area ,and You Can't See To Stop The Car.

Thanks BlownIncome, the rule book doesn't say, just says required. and two firebottle companies said required means exact system as a funny car. But experience tells me that won't work.
Thanks Will for this site it's great to get advice from people who have been there, done that and don't want to do it again!!!
