We are having issues with sealing up the back of the oil pan on a BAE forged block. Does anyone know of a trick to seal this thing up?

It appears to be leaking where the rear main cap meets the block at the bottom. Hard to explain!! You can tell by running your finger along the block base that the cap is slightly higher (indented) then the base when the oil pan fits. However it is so slight you would think the gasket would form to fill this slight gap.

    Anyone else have this issue??

Have the same problem with our TFX block. Old school fix that works is to use two gaskets, one glued to the block and one glued to the pan. Only problem is if you have to drop the crank. You can razor knife the gaskets at the mains and silly snot the cut at reassembly

We glue two gaskets to the pan and none to the block. Works very well.

I had a similar problem, the main stud was hitting the pan holding it away from the gasket. Kevin
